During these visits, we may take X-rays to detect decay between teeth or assess how teeth are coming in. We might also discuss the use of fluoride to protect your child’s teeth or suggest sealants for newly erupted molars to prevent cavities.
As your child grows, we’ll keep an eye on the development of their teeth and jaw to identify any potential alignment issues. If needed, we can refer your child to an orthodontist for specialized care. Additionally, if a cavity is found in a baby tooth, it’s important to address it, as some primary teeth stay in the mouth until age 12. Filling cavities prevents decay from spreading, which can lead to more serious issues that are painful and costly to treat later on.
